..God said let there be light and there was light. Simply put, it's quoting the Old Testament to signify the arrival of BPM on the fore. Yes...BPM has arrived and with a bang! And I chose to signify it by the above phrase because now I see a hope of IT and Business converging for the first time since the birth of IT couple of decades ago.
The biggest success of BPM lies in Lingua. Business and IT can now communicate to each other in the same language and BPM is all set to define an era...a paradigm-shift...
In the pre-BPM world, there was a perpetual disconnect between Business and IT. Business always thought that IT is not able to understand, articulate and translate it's requirements to conceptualize and build a service enabler that would provide an edge against the competition. While, IT thought that Business doesn't know to scope and structure their requirements well and hence they miss the goal.
In the BPM world, the Business would articulate business and IT would enable it. The key essence of BPM lies in reducing the turn-around time from Business Intent to Execution by Business and not by IT!
